Successful All India General Strike of the working class

Crores of workers and working people all over the country enthusiastically participated in the All India General Strike called by trade unions and other workers organisations on 9 July 2025. The strike call was given to protest against the four anti worker labour codes, and the all sided attacks on the working class and people by the Central and state governments. In addition to the 17 point charter of demands put forward by the trade unions, the workers of different sectors also put forth their sector-specific demands.

Call for All India General Strike receives widespread support

The call for an All-India General Strike on 9 July is receiving widespread support from trade unions and organisations of peasants and other working people throughout the country. Various organisations have announced their participation in the strike. The strike call has been given by central trade unions, together with various federations of workers, to demand an immediate halt to the attacks of the central and state governments on the livelihood and rights of workers. Kamgar Ekta Committee has been actively organising all over the country for the success of the General Strike.

Sanitation workers in Chennai demand better working conditions and job security

Hundreds of sanitation workers in Chennai are protesting against their terrible working conditions, insecurity of their jobs, the lack of paid leave and other benefits, as well as the lack of safety equipment. They are demanding that the government regularise their jobs.

Workers Unity Movement calls on all workers and all the people in Tamil Nadu to support the just struggle of the sanitation workers.

Indian government’s response to the US and Israeli attacks on Iran

The imperialist aims of the bourgeoisie has resulted in India’s foreign policy becoming increasingly reactionary and opportunistic. All pretensions of being part of an anti-imperialist camp have vanished. This is evident in India’s self-serving and unprincipled stand with respect to Israel’s genocidal war against the Palestinian people, and with respect to the recent US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
